We now know that Node.js has moved JavaScript beyond the domain of the front-end developer. In the latest survey conducted by the Node.js Foundation, 73 percent of Node.js users are involved with back-end development, which is 21 points higher than those involved with front-end development. The differences are even starker if we look their area of focus — only 16 percent primarily do front-end work. Their area of focus may not have changed the types of apps they use as 84 percent of respondents still use Node.js for web applications. Perhaps just using Node.js on the server-side has turned some front-end developers into the full stack variety.
