Capital One Opened Its APIs to Third-Party Developers — Here’s What They Learned – InApps Technology 2022

About a year ago, Capital One launched Capital One DevExchange, its platform for external APIs and destination to learn about its open source projects. At the time, Capital One exposed three of its internal APIs for third parties to augment their own products and services. APIs have become a way for the banking company to extend its services to external developers. Capital One’s API strategy demonstrates how the company is becoming just as much of a technology company as a financial services organization.

The company has learned a lot about developing, deploying and managing APIs. Its progress shows how the company treats APIs as products and continues to evolve its investment in open source technologies, explained Amy Heidersbach, Capital One vice president of developer marketing and platforms, in this TNS Makers interview during SXSW 2017 from the Capital One House at Antone’s.
